A new single-parcel pier on Lake Tahoe
A new pier on one Lake Tahoe parcel still needs an allocation from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA). The next private window is June 2027. An allocation is not a permit, and it is not available on demand.
Our team stays with the project through TRPA and the other agencies with a say on the water: state lands, the Corps, water quality, and fish and wildlife.
Start with whether a new pier is even eligible
A single-parcel pier is a longer shot.
In 2025, 2 of 52 single-parcel applications were selected. That is a longer shot than a shared pier (11 of 22 that year). Sharing is often more realistic. It is still not a guarantee. See new shared / multi-parcel pier.
We can review eligibility if you want a clear answer, and prepare an application if you choose to wait for 2027.
