A new shared, multi-parcel pier on Lake Tahoe
A new shared pier on Lake Tahoe needs an allocation from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) before it can be permitted. The next private window is June 2027. An allocation is not a permit, and it is not available on demand.
Our team stays with the project through TRPA and the other agencies with a say on the water: state lands, the Corps, water quality, and fish and wildlife.
Start with whether a new pier is even eligible
A shared pier is often the stronger path.
In the 2025 drawing, multi-parcel applications were selected 11 of 22. Single-parcel applications were selected 2 of 52. Sharing with neighboring parcels is often the more realistic path. It is not a guarantee.
If neighboring lots can share, we review whether the shore is eligible, then prepare the application so you are ready if an allocation comes. A pier on one lot is a new single-parcel pier.
